Castle Air Museum:
The Castle Air Museum, located at Santa Fe & Buhach Road, Atwater, (209) 723-2177. Opens 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily. Vintage planes on display, all military issue from W.W.11 to present. Admission charges: Adults-$5.00; Seniors- $3.00, Children 12-18-$2.00; under 12 Free.

Rancho Del Rey Golf Club:

Open 7 days, a year round, dawn to dusk. Open to public, 18 holes, par 72, driving range, restaurant and bar.

Applegate Park & Zoo:
26thh & R Streets, Merced
The zoo is open daily 10 AM to 5 PM Sprint and 11 Am to 4 PM in winter, nominal admission fee. The park has wild animals, ducks, picnic areas, rose garden, Laura's Fountain and Kiddieland Amusement area with train (available on weekends June through September).

Museum of Merced County Heritage Courthouse:
Museum of Merced County Heritage Courthouse, (resorted) Courthouse Park is between 20th and 21st Streets, Merced. (209) 723- 2401. Opens daily between 1-4 PM. No admission fee. Collections of dolls, quilts and history exhibits.

Lake Yosemite:
Lake Yosemite, take G street to Bellevue Road (follow signs from that point). Open sun-up to sundown daily. $2.00 per car in peak season. Features boating, water-skiing, wind sailing, swimming, canoeing B.B.Q’s, picnic areas and sand beach.

Yosemite Wildlife Museum:

Open Mon-Tues 9 AM to 9 PM, Wed 9 AM to 7 PM, Thurs- Sat 9 AM to 9 PM, Sunday 1 PM to 5 PM. Nominal admission charge. Features preserved animals in their own habitat. Shooting range available.

Take Hwy 99 South, left on Munturn Rd. (800) 532-1500 or (209) 389- 4594. Open for tours Mon- Fri 8 AM- 5 PM, Sat 8 Am – 2 PM. Friendly tours in a small nut processing and packaging plant. Specialize in pistachio nuts and also offer a variety of California nuts produced in this area. Free Samples – gift boxes shipped.

Open Mon-Fri 8 AM-6 PM, Sat 10 AM- 6 PM. Easy access on Hwy. 165. Opened in October in 1985, plant produces a variety of cheeses sold in their retail store. A viewing room is available to see the cheese making process and sample their product.
